ELIGIBILITY, ENTRANCE TESTS & SELECTION

This depends on the course you wish to apply to. You need to fulfill the minimum qualifications required appear for the Entrance Test as given in the Eligibility Requirements.

When will I know if I have qualified for the Entrance Test?

Once the Admissions Office receives your application, it will be processed and you will either receive the Admissions Test Entrance card or a letter of rejection. What are the dates for admissions tests and interviews? Where are they held?
You can download the Admissions Test Schedule which lists the dates for both admissions tests and interviews for all programmes.
All admission tests are conducted in Puttaparthi, at the Prasanthi Nilayam Campus of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.
What is the question paper pattern?
All candidates will necessarily have to write a test in general English that could be a combination of multiple-choice, short answer and essay type questions. This may vary from programme to programme. Candidates also have to write a subject-related test, which are by and large multiple-choice in nature.
Further specific details are sent along with the Admissions Test Entrance card.
Is there a syllabus for Admissions Tests?
Yes. You can download the admissions tests syllabi here, depending on which programme you have applied for.
Undergraduate Programmes
Postgraduate / Professional Programmes
How is a candidate selected for admission?
After the written tests (for that particular course) are completed, candidates are short-listed for an interview on the basis of their performance in General English versus the total aggregate of other tests (and in some courses some additional tests), both of which have a minimum cut-off point. Only candidates who pass the written test will be invited for an interview.
The weightage (towards admissions) of the written test and interview is 70% and 30% respectively, although this may vary slightly from programme to programme.
Candidates are given provisional admissions based on their rank in the final mark list.

ADMISSIONS RESULTS & JOINING SSSIHL
What are the probable dates of announcement of Admissions Results and where will they be published?

After all the admissions tests and interviews are completed in April, final decisions about admissions will be made and posted on the University website around the first week of May 2012.

For those selected candidates who do not have access to the Internet, a selection letter will be posted to them soon after the admissions results are declared. Along with the letter, related information will also be included.
Additionally, provisional lists of selected candidates (for each programme) will also be put up at the Prasanthi Nilayam ashram. The notice boards will be located opposite the main Accommodation office in the ashram.
Why are selected candidates given only provisional admissions?

You are given provisional admission based on your performance in the admission tests and interviews. However, you will have to submit evidence of your having successfully completed your previous programme of study, i.e. the original marks certificate of XII standard (for undergraduate programmes) or your Bachelors/Masters degree (for postgraduate / professional programmes) for your admission to be confirmed.

All candidates selected for admissions must positively report to the hostel of their respective campuses by the evening of 31 May 2012. The Academic Year 2012/13 commences on 1 June 2012.
