DESCRIPTION:अनन्त-अणु-वैभवम् — The Infinite Grandeur of the Microscopic World\n17–19 September 2026 | Prasanthi Nilayam Campus\, SSSIHL\nThe Department of Biosciences\, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL)\, is hosting International Microorganisms Day 2026 from 17 to 19 September 2026 at the Prasanthi Nilayam Campus\, Puttaparthi. Celebrated under the theme “अनन्त-अणु-वैभवम् — The Infinite Grandeur of the Microscopic World\,” the three-day programme seeks to bring greater appreciation and understanding of the remarkable world of microorganisms and their far-reaching significance to life\, health and the environment. \nThe programme brings together eminent scientists\, faculty and students through a diverse range of academic and interactive engagements. The inaugural session on 17 September features the Dr. Gopinatha Rao Memorial Lecture by Prof. Steffen Backert\, along with an eminent lecture by Dr. B. E. Pradeep and student oral presentations. Poster presentations and demonstrations further provide students an opportunity to present their work and engage with different facets of microbiology. \nThe second day features eminent lectures by Dr. Suneesh Kumar P. and Prof. Deepak Kumar Saini\, complemented by student oral presentations. Interactive activities include a Microbiology Quiz Competition and Games: Beyond the Microscope\, encouraging students to explore microbiology beyond conventional academic settings. \nThe concluding day features eminent lectures by Dr. Alladi Mohan and Dr. Vivek Tiwari\, followed by further oral presentations. The Valedictory Programme includes a panel discussion on “Undergraduate Research in SSSIHL\,” the Valedictory Address by the Head\, Department of Biosciences\, and a Prize Distribution Ceremony\, bringing the three-day celebration to a close. \nThrough lectures\, research presentations\, demonstrations\, competitions and interactive engagements\, International Microorganisms Day 2026 provides a platform for students and the wider academic community to explore the immense diversity\, relevance and potential of the microbial world. \nDownload Event Flyer and Schedule
