Prafulla Kumar Meher is a Hindustani Classical Vocalist. He has trained under the guidance of Prof. Dilip Kumar Karmakar (AIR Graded Artist and disciple of Pandit Amiya Ranjan Badyopadhyay), Vishnupur Gharana. He performs classical vocal, composes songs and Orchestra. He has received the Best Teacher Award from Delhi Public School, Gandhidham, Gujarat in 2012. Apart from his full-time teaching duties, he teaches Hindustani Vocal to Sri Sathya Sai Primary School and Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School students at Prasanthi Nilayam.
He completed his B.A.(Hons.) in Oriya from Sonepur College, Sambalpur University, Odisha in 1990. After that he went on to complete Diploma, Spl. Degree (B.Mus.) and M.Mus. in Hindustani Vocal from Visva-Bharati Central University, Santiniketan, 2003. He completed Sangit Visharad in Hindustani Vocal from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh in 2002. He was awarded 4th Grade in Piano (Trinity College, London) in 2012. He worked as a Music teacher in different Public Schools in Uttaranchal, UP and Haryana from 2003 to 2006 and worked as Head, Dept. of Music and Dance in Delhi Public School, Gujarat from 2006 to 2013. He joined the Dept. of Music SSSIHL as a teacher in 2013.
