Key University Officers
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is the Revered Founder Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (Deemed to be University).
Chancellor
Sri K Chakravarthi

The Chancellor of the university is appointed by the Trust. He typically holds office for a period of five years. When present, the Chancellor presides over the convocations of the university but is not the Chief Executive Officer.
Where power is conferred upon the Chancellor to nominate persons to authorities, he, to the extent necessary, nominates persons to represent the various interests for the furtherance of the objectives of the Institute.
Sri Krishnamachari Chakravarthi (born 25 May 1936), took charge as the fourth Chancellor, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, on 18 June 2018.
Sri Chakravarthi, after completing his university education in Economics, joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1960, and was borne on the cadre of the then unified state of Andhra Pradesh, where he held various positions, such as Collector of Anantapur district, Finance Secretary (Projects), Commissioner of Relief, Commissioner of Commercial taxes, etc.
With Blessings of our Revered Founder Chancellor, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, he has been in Prashanti Nilayam since 1981, when he was appointed as the first Registrar of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning; a position that he held until 1994. During this period, he diligently established tangible administrative and academic procedures and helped take the University on the right path as envisioned by our Beloved Founder Chancellor.
Along with the first Vice Chancellor, Prof. V K Gokak, he was instrumental in introducing the unique ‘Sri Sathya Sai System of Integral Education’ under the Divine guidance of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Later, Sri Chakravarthi was associated with the implementation of Sri Sathya Sai Drinking Water Supply project in Anantapur District as a Coordinator, on behalf of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. He then was appointed as Secretary, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust by Bhagawan Baba. He continued to function as such and later assumed responsibility as a Member Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, where he has made major contributions to several initiatives of the Trust in the areas of medicare, educare and sociocare.
Vice-Chancellor
Prof. (Dr.) C B Sanjeevi

The Vice-Chancellor is the principal Academic Head and principal Executive Officer of the Institute, and he exercises general control over its affairs. He is a full-time Officer. The Vice-Chancellor, by virtue of his Office, is a member and Chairman of the Board of Management, the Academic Council, the Faculties and Finance Committee, and will preside at the meetings thereof. He will exercise all such powers as may be delegated to him under the Rules of the Institute.
Prof. (Dr.) C B Sanjeevi assumed charge as the eleventh Vice-Chancellor of SSSIHL on 23 November 2019.
Dr. Sanjeevi has been at the Karolinska Institute, a medical university in Stockholm, Sweden, since 1989. Karolinska Institute is known for selecting and awarding Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine and the Institute was established in 1810. He heads the Diabetes-Immunology research group at the Center for Molecular Medicine, and is affiliated to the Dept of Medicine. His group’s focus is on Autoimmune diabetes.
Dr. Sanjeevi has won several awards, and the most notable one was the Pravasi Bharathiya Samman Award from the Government of India for ‘Eminence in one’s field or outstanding work (Medicine), which has enhanced India’s prestige in the country of residence.
He received the award on 9 January, 2017 in Bangalore from the President of India. It is the highest honour conferred on Persons of Indian origin by the Government of India in recognition of their achievements both in India and abroad.
He is editor for the ‘Immunology of Diabetes’ series volumes (1 to 5) published by The Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences and served in the Editorial board of several journals like Diabetologia, Human Immunology, Current Diabetes Reviews Islets, etc. Dr. Sanjeevi also served in the Council of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and had won several awards in the field of Diabetes from EASD and diabetes research foundations. He has been a visiting professor at several universities.
From 2000 to 2012, Dr. Sanjeevi has served as the Karolinska Institute’s scientific coordinator for India and promoted Academy-Academy, Academy-Industry and Industry-Industry partnerships between Karolinska Institute and India as well as Sweden and India. Since 2006, he has been Senior advisor to Business Sweden, an agency that belongs to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Govt. of Sweden. He is also Senior Advisor to the Innovation Office of Karolinska Institute.
Registrar
Prof. B Sai Giridhar

A full-time Officer of the Institute, the Registrar is the custodian of the records and of the common seal and funds, and other properties of the Institute. He will function as the Secretary of the Board of Management, Academic Council, Finance Committee and the Faculties.
He will represent the University in suits or legal proceedings against it, sign powers of attorney, etc. and conduct all official correspondence of the university and its authorities. He will issue notices convening meeting of the authorities of the University and of any Committees appointed by such authorities. He renders such assistance to the Vice-Chancellor in the discharge of his duties as may be desired by him.
Prof. B Sai Giridhar was appointed as the fifth Registrar of the university in May 2018.
He enrolled as a student of the first batch of the Integrated B.Com. programme at SSSIHL in 1982. In 1986, he was awarded the SSSIHL All-Round Gold Medal. He completed his M.Com. in 1987 at the Institute, and subsequently, in 1993, he was awarded his Ph.D. in the area of Multi-Echelon Distribution Inventory Systems.
He joined the Department of Management & Commerce (then Faculty of Commerce) as a faculty member in 1992. His area of expertise is Finance.
Prof. Sai Giridhar was the Deputy Director of the Prasanthi Nilayam Campus, SSSIHL from 2014 to 2015. In 2015, he was appointed Head, Department of Management & Commerce for a period of three years
Controller of Examinations
Sri Sanjay Sahni

As a full-time Officer, the Controller of Examinations is in-charge of procedures and supervision of all internal evaluation and examinations of the institute. This includes ensuring that all the specific directions of the Board of Management, Academic Council and Vice-Chancellor in respect of examination and evaluation are complied with. He is also a permanent invitee to the Board of Management.
Sri Sanjay Sahni took over as the third Controller of Examinations of the university in January 2016.
An alumnus of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, he was a student of the first batch of the 5-year integrated Commerce Program from 1982-1987. He won the gold medal for academic excellence both for his Bachelors of Commerce as well as Masters of Commerce programmes.
He then joined SSSIHL as a faculty member in the Department of Commerce in 1987. He subsequently served as the Warden of the Senior Boys Hostel at Prasanthi Nilayam Campus from 1990-1993 before moving to Brindavan Campus. He was a faculty member at the Department of Commerce at Brindavan and in 2002 assumed the role of the Director of Brindavan Campus.
