Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning is a Public Charitable Trust registered under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act, 1961, for providing free education to students for all programmes of study. This includes waiver of all fees – tuition, examinations, laboratory, library, sports and medical. Programmes offered include undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and research.
The Trust has been granted recognition under Section 10(23C)(vi) of the IT Act, 1961, and Section 6(1) of the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, 1976. Contributions to the Trust enjoy exemption under Section 80G of the IT Act, 1961.
The University, run by the Trust, has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a ‘Deemed to be University’. It has a merit-based open admissions policy for all, irrespective of economic background, religion or region.
In line with the vision of the Revered Founder Chancellor, all research at SSSIHL is needs-based, and therefore helps alleviate problems affecting the poorer sections of society, ultimately leading to societal benefit.
