Application Guide

The Application Guide will help prospective students in preparing an application for SSSIHL admissions.

Important: It is essential that you read this guide carefully before you submit your application form with the required details and supporting materials and documentation. Candidates who fail to fulfill all requirements will not be considered for admissions. All aspects of the admission process will be exclusively conducted online, covering Application Submission, Entrance Examinations, Technical Viva, Group Discussion, Aptitude Test (Music), and Interviews, as applicable for each course.

UNDERGRADUATE, POSTGRADUATE AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMMES

STEP 1: REGISTRATION

Follow the steps below to submit your application successfully.

  • Click on the relevant link provided for Men and Women separately on the Apply Online page to access the Application forms
  • Create an account by registering yourself (Applicant) using a valid email ID
  • Use the credentials received in your email inbox to login into your account
  • Click the ‘New Application’ button
  • Select the program you want to apply for (UG/PG/Professional/B.P.A./Diploma)
  • Choose the Admission year as ‘2023-2024’
  • Choose the default Program type given in the dropdown
  • Choose the Term as ‘Semester-1’
  • Click on ‘Start Applying’
  • Review the important information and eligibility criteria given on the first page
  • Make a payment of Rs. 100/- towards the application fee using the SBI Collect link provided in the form (Under Primary Information)
  • Fill in the rest of the form and make sure to attach the necessary documents
  • After submission, you may view/print your application form using the link provided on your login page
  • All your information is transmitted through a secure server and is kept fully confidential. Your application information and accompanying credentials are reviewed only by authorised representatives of the Institute.

STEP 2: PROGRAMME ELIGIBILITY & DESCRIPTIONS

The minimum eligibility requirements vary for each programme. Applications of candidates who do not meet the required admissions criteria listed in the prospectus will not be processed by the Admissions Office and will be sent a letter of rejection.

STEP 4: DOCUMENTS CHECKLIST

Note: All Mark sheets must be self-attested by the applicant.

The complete list of supporting materials to be uploaded along with your application:

1) One passport-sized photograph
Latest Photograph of Applicant in the prescribed format mentioned in the application form

2) Statement of marks

For Undergraduate Programmes:

  • Self-attested photocopies of the Statement of Marks for X Std. issued by your Higher Secondary School Board
  • Self-attested photocopies of the Statement of Marks for XI Std. (XII Std. if completed) issued by your Higher Secondary School

Note: If you are successful and get admission, your final attested mark sheets for XII Std. will need to be submitted within a month after joining the institute.

For Postgraduate / Professional Programmes:

  • Self-attested photocopies of the Statement of Marks for X Std. issued by your Higher Secondary School Board
  • Self-attested photocopies of the Statement of Marks for XII Std. issued by your Higher Secondary School Board
  • Self-attested photocopies of the Statement of Marks (along with the final degree certificate) of all semesters/years issued by the authority (University/College/Institution) which conducted the Qualifying Examinations leading to your Final degree.

Note: If you have just finished your final exams or are about to take them, please send final mark sheets for all the years preceding the final year. If your institution follows a semester system, please send exam mark sheets for all semesters preceding the final semester.

3) Application fee receipt
Upload a copy of the application fee payment receipt. Please ensure the DU Ref. Number is visible.

4) Photo identification proof
Upload a copy of any Government approved Photo ID cards like Aadhaar

5) For SC/ST/OBC applicants
Upload a self-attested copy of the caste certificate

6) For EWS applicants
Upload a self-attested copy of the valid EWS certificate

STEP 5: AWAIT CONFIRMATION OF DECISION ON ADMISSION TEST ELIGIBILITY

Once the Admissions Office receives your online application, it will be duly processed to make sure that you meet all the preliminary eligibility criteria and that all the supporting materials (including your application form) are accurate.

List of applicants who meet all the criteria and are eligible to take the admissions test will be published on our website and the Admissions Entrance Test Card (Hall Ticket) required for taking the admissions entrance test will be sent to them.

Applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will be notified.

STEP 6: ADMISSION ENTRANCE TEST SYLLABUS

You can download the admissions tests syllabi below, depending on which programme you have applied for.

Please note that it is compulsory to write a test in General English along with subject-related tests.

The admissions tests are largely objective multiple-choice questions. Negative marks are awarded for every incorrect answer. This is 25% of the total marks allocated for that particular question.

STEP 9: JOIN THE UNIVERSITY!

Congratulations! If you make it to this stage, you have got a place to study at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.

List of documentation to be submitted upon admission

All newly admitted candidates must submit the following to the Director of the Campus on the opening day of the University academic year:

Undergraduate Programmes

  • Original Marks Certificate of X/XII Standard. If your XII Std. results are not yet published, you should submit the original marks certificate of X Standard.
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate

Postgraduate or Professional Programmes

  • Original Marks Certificate of your college / University degree. If your final year results are not yet published, you should submit the original marks certificate of you previous degree / XII Standard
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate

How do I reach Prasanthi Nilayam?

Prasanthi Nilayam is the name of the ashram established by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It is also the name of the main campus of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. It is located in Puttaparthi, in Sri Sathya Sai District, Andhra Pradesh.

By train:
Prasanthi Nilayam has a railway station by the name Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam (station code: SSPN). The campus and ashram are located at about 10 k.m. from the railway station. Several trains come directly to Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam. Auto rickshaws will charge around Rs.80 for a one-way fare to the main entrance of the ashram.

Alternatively, you can reach Puttaparthi by taking a train to the Dharmavaram Junction (station code: DMM). Dharmavaram is about 40km from Puttaparthi and is on the Guntakal-Bangalore section of the South-Central Railway.

Those alighting at Dharmavaram Railway Station may board direct buses from the railway station to Prasanthi Nilayam. If direct buses are not available from the station, you can take an auto rickshaw to the Dharmavaram Bus Stand, from where buses to Puttaparthi are available for a nominal charge. Private Taxis and vans may also be available in the vicinity of the Dharmavaram Bus Stand.

A computerized Railway Reservation facility is available at the Prasanthi Nilayam Bus Stand for those who wish to book return tickets.

By bus:
Puttaparthi may be reached directly by bus from Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and major towns of Andhra Pradesh. Buses alight at the Puttaparthi bus stand which is conveniently located directly opposite to the entrance gate of the ashram.

By car:
Puttaparthi is located off National Highway (NH) 7, which connects Bangalore to Hyderabad. Look out for signs to Puttaparthi or visit Google Maps for point-to-point directions.

By flight:
The nearest airport to Puttaparthi is Bangalore International airport. Once you exit the terminal building, you can negotiate a taxi to take you to Puttaparthi. On average, expect to pay Rs.1800 for a one-way taxi fare. It takes less than three hours to reach Puttaparthi from Bangalore airport.

DOCTORAL RESEARCH PROGRAMMES

  • Choose the Term as ‘Semester-1’
  • Click on ‘Start Applying’
  • Review the important information and eligibility criteria given on the first page
  • Make a payment of Rs. 200/- towards the application fee using the SBI Collect portal link provided in the form (Under Primary Information)
  • Choose the department you wish to apply to – and add the 3 preferred areas of research
  • Fill in the rest of the form and make sure to attach the necessary documents
  • After submission, view/print your application using the link provided on your login page
  • All your information is transmitted through a secure server and is kept fully confidential. Your application information and accompanying credentials are reviewed by authorised representatives of the Institute.

STEP 2: PROGRAMME ELIGIBILITY & DESCRIPTIONS

The Prospective candidates who would like to apply should ensure that they clear the eligibility criteria listed below.

  • All Ph.D. applicants should not be more than 29 years of age as on 31 May 2023
  • The applicant should be unmarried
  • It will be a residential programme. Selected candidates must reside in the hostel till they complete their Ph.D. programme without exception
  • Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree correlating to the Ph.D. programme they are applying for (final year students must have appeared for their final exams by the time of the admissions tests) with minimum 60% marks (aggregate) or equivalent grade from SSSIHL or any other recognized university in the disciplines mentioned in the Admissions Prospectus.

List of Mandatory Documents to be scanned, self-attested and submitted along with your duly filled in Application form.

  • Government approved Photo ID card – Aadhaar card
  • Latest Photograph of Candidate– in JPG/JPEG/PNG formats only
  • Application Fee -Payment Receipt Copy
  • Educational Certificates/Mark Sheets of your X, XII, Bachelor’s, Master degree and MPhil (if applicable) duly attested by candidate
  • Self-attested copies of the caste certificates in case of SC/ST
  • Relevant copies of certificates of UGC-JRF, CSIR-NET, GATE, JEST etc., (if applicable)
