This may vary from programme to programme. Candidates also have to write a subject-related test, which are by and large multiple-choice in nature. You may download Model Test Papers for various admissions tests on the Admissions Downloads page.
After the written tests (for that particular course) are completed, candidates are short-listed for an interview on the basis of their performance in General English versus the total aggregate of other tests (and in some courses some additional tests), both of which have a minimum cut-off point. Only candidates who pass the written test will be invited for an interview.
The weightage (towards admissions) of the written test and interview is 70% and 30% respectively, although this may vary from programme to programme.
Candidates are given provisional admissions based on their rank in the final mark list.
