Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), signed a Collaboration Agreement with Motherson Techno Tools Ltd (MTTL), India, on 09 December 2025, in Prasanthi Nilayam, marking the beginning of a structured long-term partnership focused on advancing academic excellence, applied research, and meaningful industry-academia engagement.
The agreement was formally exchanged between Prof. B. Raghavendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, SSSIHL, and Mr. Rajiv Malhotra, Chief Operating Officer, MTTL.
Those present during the signing included – Dr. Srikanth Khanna (Registrar, SSSIHL), Prof. Pallav Baruah (Dean, Innovation & Entrepreneurship), Dr. Sripada Lakshminath (Head, Dept. of Chemistry), Dr. Naga Sai Visweswar K (Assistant Professor, Chemistry), Mr. Chintha Jagadeesh (Research Scholar), Dr. Vishal Khetan (Project Head & SPOC, General Manager – Development, Motherson DeltaCarb Hardmetal, SA) and Mr. Deshraj Singh (Production division, Motherson).
Overview:
The partnership aims to create a dynamic framework for joint research, industrial training, technology development, and student-faculty development initiatives.
The collaboration seeks to:
- Foster joint research in chemistry, materials science, coatings for cutting tools, and related disciplines
- Enhance student exposure to real-world industrial environments
- Support industry-relevant PhD research
- Facilitate access to advanced research infrastructure such as the Central Research Instruments Facility (CRIF)
- Promote technology development, innovation, and potential commercialization
- Strengthen recruitment pathways for graduates
Key Areas of Collaboration
The collaboration will enable students to gain hands-on industrial exposure through internships, industry-guided research projects, and mentorship from MTTL experts, while receiving academic supervision from SSSIHL faculty. Both institutions will jointly undertake research in chemistry, materials science, and advanced coatings, leveraging shared expertise and infrastructure, including access to SSSIHL’s Central Research Instruments Facility (CRIF). The partnership also supports industry-sponsored PhD fellowships, facilitates access to select research facilities and biorepositories, and encourages technology development and potential commercialization. Additionally, MTTL will actively consider SSSIHL graduates for suitable career opportunities.
