Report on Music Program by the Department of Performing Arts, SSSIHL

With the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Department of Performing Arts, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, presented a soulful music program titled “Praan Sakha Mere Sai” at Sai Kulwant Hall on the evening of 22 August 2025.

The presentation began with a Carnatic Varnam in Raga Todi, followed by a Kriti in Raga Chakravakam composed by Muthuswami Dikshitar, extolling the glory of Lord Ganesha. Still immersed in the festive spirit of Krishnashtami, the program featured a Veena recital of Purandharadasa’s composition ‘Jagadoddharana’, beautifully portraying the innocence and playfulness of Sai Krishna with Mother Yashoda. This was followed by the centenary offering “Shatavarsha Janmotsavam” on the Veena, expressing gratitude to Bhagawan for His eternal grace.

A serene Krishna Bhajan ‘Baaje Muraliya Baaje’ then transported the audience into the blissful sound of Krishna’s flute, evoking love, peace, and surrender. The final presentation, the fusion composition ‘Praan Sakha Mere Sai’, offered as a tribute to Beloved Mother Sai, captivated the gathering with its scintillating blend of North and South Indian classical styles, seamlessly interwoven with Jazz, Rock, and Blues.

The evening concluded with Bhajans and Mangal Aarti, filling Sai Kulwant Hall with devotion and musical bliss.
