Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning celebrates National Science Day – 2023 (NSD-2023) at the national level in collaboration with Dr K V Rao Scientific Society, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations, India and Nexus Consulting.
The importance of Science and its contribution to Human development has been phenomenal over the last century. In 1986, the Government of India declared February 28 as National Science day (NSD) to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by prominent physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman who was awarded the Nobel Prize for the discovery in 1930. Since then, NSD is celebrated across the country to highlight the significance and role of Science in everyday life, on February 28.
The objectives of this National Science Day are
- To spread the message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people
- To foster the scientific temper in school students and to motivate them to contribute in the field of science for human welfare.
- To give an opportunity to the scientific minded students in India.
On this occasion, theme-based science communication activities are carried out all over India. Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) has been celebrating National Science Day every year on all its campuses. This year, SSSIHL is jointly organizing and celebrating National Science Day 2023 (NSD – 2023) in collaboration with Dr. K. V. Rao Scientific Society, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations, India and Nexus Consulting.
As part of NSD 2023 celebrations, three competitions namely Essay, Painting, and Quiz will be organised for schools across India to participate. The schools are requested to encourage their students to participate in these competitions.
The registrations for these different competitions will start on January 16th and close by February 7th, 2023.
