DESCRIPTION

The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences at our women’s campus in Anantapur is inviting applications from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a time-bound research project titled “Formulation and Evaluation of Ready to Use Supplementary Foods (RUSFs) for Community Management of Moderate Acute Malnutrition using Indigenous Food Crops and Novel Approaches”. The position is for a temporary period, and purely on a contractual basis, renewable based on review and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be required to carry out the following tasks under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), Prof. N. Srividya:

  • Conduct literature searches and syntheses
  • Perform data collection and entry
  • Execute routine and advanced analytical protocols, including computational and nutritional analysis, and human clinical trials
  • Engage in academic writing, including reports and publications
  • Procure consumables and contingency items
  • Prepare and maintain official project-related documents and maintain stock records

REQUIREMENTS*

  1. A good academic record with a First Class (or an equivalent grade) in M.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition/ Food and Nutritional Sciences/ Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics/ Public Health Nutrition/ Biochemistry/ Biosciences / Life-sciences or an equivalent degree, with a minimum of 55% marks.
  2. Must have passed the NET/GATE test.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office & Statistical package is desirable
  4. Experience in operating analytical equipment like the multimode reader, HPLC, LC-MS, MP-AES, etc., is desirable
  5. Should be 28 years or less at the time of applying. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women, and those physically handicapped
  6. Appreciation and willingness to live a disciplined life as per the code of conduct of the University, based on the basic human values as enunciated by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is essential

NOTE

  • The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The candidate will have no right to claim permanent employment under SSSIHL/CSIR-HRDG or continuation of services in any other project
  • The incumbents selected will have no claim for benefits of provident fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim, etc., as per the rules
