ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Director, Nandigiri Campus, the Technical Assistant (Electrical, Plumbing and Civil) will handle the day-to-day upkeep and repair of the campus facilities, specifically electrical work, plumbing, and minor civil repairs. He will play a crucial role in ensuring that classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices and student hostels function smoothly without disruption..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Electrical Maintenance: Ensure the safe and continuous operation of our campus electrical infrastructure. Conduct routine inspections, promptly resolve daily electrical complaints and minor appliance repairs, and assist in managing backup power systems across all academic buildings and student hostels.
  • Plumbing & Water Supply Management: Ensure reliable water access and sanitation across the campus. Manage the continuous water supply via pumps and overhead tanks, install and repair plumbing fixtures daily, and promptly address leaks and drainage issues to uphold strict hygiene standards in academic blocks and student hostels.
  • Minor Civil & Carpentry Works: Maintain the physical integrity and furnishings of the campus infrastructure. Perform minor civil repairs, such as masonry and painting; handle basic carpentry tasks to repair doors and hostel furniture; and assist with site preparation and cleanup during larger renovation projects.
  • Preventative Maintenance & Safety: Focus on proactive campus care and safety compliance. Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve issues early, manage a basic inventory of tools and spare parts, and strictly adhere to the institution’s safety protocols during all repair work.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 10+2/Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Institute with at least 55% (50% in case of SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD). An ITI certification or Diploma in a relevant trade (Electrician, Plumber or Fitter) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 -5 years of practical, hands-on experience in general facility maintenance, construction, or building management.
  • Multidisciplinary proficiency in basic electrical, plumbing, and civil repair work. Ability to safely handle hand and power tools.
  • Quick response time to emergencies and a practical approach to troubleshooting daily facility issues.
  • Commitment to SSSIHL’s code of conduct and Values-based Integral Education system.
