Prof. Rajeshwari C Patel graduated from the erstwhile Sri Sathya Sai Arts and Science College (for women), Anantapur, (which was affiliated to Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati) with a National Merit Scholarship for her outstanding academic performance. She went on to complete her Masters in English Language and Literature from the Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, with a Gold Medal. She was the recipient of the UGC Junior Research Fellowship. Her doctoral thesis was on twentieth-century poetry, on W. B. Yeats and the Ideal of Unity of Being.
She joined the Department of English Language & Literature, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, as Lecturer in 1985. She was Head of the Department from 2011-2017. She was Dean, Faculty of Economics & Humanities in 2017-18. Currently, she is serving as Honorary Professor, Department of English Language & Literature at SSSIHL.
