Dr. Saiswaroop R is a researcher and educator in neurobiology and cancer biology. He earned his Ph.D. in Neurobiology from SSSIHL in 2023, integrating clinical studies with molecular biology.
He undertook postdoctoral training in cancer biology at Baylor College of Medicine, USA (2023–2025), using molecular biology, mass spectrometry and animal models to investigate aggressive cancers. A second postdoctoral position, through a collaboration between SSSIHL and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, focused on multi-omics data analysis and experimental validation.
He joined SSSIHL as an Assistant Professor in 2026 and leads a neuro-oncology research group.

Research Interests
Nucleotide metabolism and nucleotide pool homeostasis in glioblastoma progression and therapeutic resistance, with a focus on investigating potential therapeutic targets and combination strategies with temozolomide for aggressive and temozolomide-resistant disease.
