The ICMR-National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis, in partnership with CEMB, SSSIHL, and the Department of Health Research, Govt. of India, orchestrated a dynamic two-day workshop on Infectious Disease Modeling.
With a focus on enhancing participants’ grasp of mathematical models for understanding infectious diseases, the workshop delved into practical examples and interactive sessions. Dr. M Muniyandi, Scientist-E & HOD, Health Economics, ICMR-NIRT, inaugurated the event, welcoming attendees and esteemed speakers.
Dr. D. K. K. Vamsi, Coordinator, CEMB, SSSIHL, covered various topics including disease modeling applications and deterministic modeling. Mr. D. Bhanu Prakash, Doctoral Research Scholar from SSSIHL led a hands-on session on Python programming for disease modeling.
Additionally, Dr. Surabhi Pandey from IIPH and Dr. B. Mayilvaganan from Madurai Kamaraj University shared insights on advanced modeling studies and mathematical approaches for drug delivery estimation, respectively.
The workshop concluded on a high note, with Dr. M Muniyandi expressing gratitude to organizers, speakers, and participants for contributing to its success.
