ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Ph.D. in Mathematics/Statistics with a specialization in any of the following thrust areas: i) Convex Optimization ii) Numerical Analysis iii) Combinatorics iv) Inventory Modelling v) Fuzzy Analysis vi) Computational Statistics
- Master’s degree in M.Sc. in Mathematics/Statistics with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics.
- Must have cleared UGC NET/CSIR NET/SLET/SET (unless exempted as per UGC regulations for Ph.D. holders).
- Good academic performance in relevant fields from a recognized University/Institute
- Experience in High Performance Computing is desirable
- Research-oriented mindset with a focus on academic excellence.
- Ability to integrate modern learning tools and research methodologies
- Proficiency in English and ability to mentor students effectively
- Commitment to SSSIHL’s code of conduct and values-based integral education system
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching and Academic Leadership
- Teach courses such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory, Probability and Statistics, Statistics for Data Science, Optimization Techniques, etc.
- Handle software lab courses such as C, C++, and Python.
- Design curriculum and instructional materials in alignment with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles.
- Integrate modern pedagogical approaches, including experiential learning and digital tools.
- Enable experiential learning
Research and Innovation
- Conduct high-impact research in any of the following thrust areas, aligning with institutional focus areas such as Health, Energy, and Environment: i) Convex Optimization ii) Numerical Analysis iii) Combinatorics iv) Inventory Modelling v) Fuzzy Analysis vi) Computational Statistics
- Publish in reputed peer-reviewed journals and present research findings at national and international conferences
- Collaborate with industry and academic institutions to strengthen research initiatives and foster innovation
- Seek and secure funded projects to support research and technological development
Student Engagement and Mentorship
- Participation in curricular, co-curricular activities
- Mentor students in academic and career development, including research guidance
- Actively contribute to departmental initiatives, including conferences, seminars, competitions, and research collaborations
- Support institutional committees by contributing to academic, administrative, and outreach activities
- Participate in NAAC-related data collection activities
