Salary: Basic: ₹1,44,200 + Dearness Allowance (DA) & House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per Institute rules (Higher qualifications and relevant experience will be considered)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry and actively engaged in impactful & productive published research work (H-Index/I-Index/Number of citations) including patents
  • Research publications in the high-impact factor reputed international journals
  • A minimum of 15 years of teaching and research experience in university at Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates
  • Proven track record of securing research grants/handling research projects funded by reputed Institutions/agencies/industries

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching and Academic Leadership: The candidate will be expected to provide high-quality instruction at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Physical Chemistry. This includes curriculum development and enhancement with demonstrated expertise in the following core areas:

  • Classical and Statistical Thermodynamics
  • Chemical Kinetics
  • Surface Chemistry
  • Electrochemistry
  • Quantum Chemistry
  • Molecular Spectroscopy

Candidates with additional teaching competencies are encouraged to apply, especially in:

  • Computational Chemistry
  • Programming Laboratories with a strong foundation in Python
  • Simulation and Modeling of Physical Chemistry Systems
  • Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies in Chemistry Education

Research and Innovation: The candidate is expected to establish and lead independent and collaborative research programs within Materials Science, with a particular emphasis on Energy and Sustainable Technologies. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced materials for Organic Solar Cells, OLEDs, Batteries, and Supercapacitors
  • Functional materials for Semiconductors and Quantum Devices

Student Engagement and Mentorship: The candidate will be expected to actively engage with students through:

  • Facilitating internship opportunities, research projects, and providing comprehensive academic advising
  • Serving as a mentor for students’ academic, career, and personal development
  • Contributing to the development of a research-intensive and value-driven academic environment within the department
  • Enable experiential learning

Institutional Contribution: The candidate will contribute to the broader academic community through:

  • Securing extramural funding through competitive research grants
  • Disseminating research findings through publications in high-impact factor international journals
  • Pursuing intellectual property protection through patent filings for novel inventions
  • Developing and maintaining active research collaborations with national and international academic institutions and industry partners
  • Mentoring undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students in research endeavors
  • Fostering a culture of research excellence by mentoring junior faculty and contributing to the strategic research direction of the department
  • Promoting innovation, entrepreneurial activities, and a commitment to sustainability within research and academic endeavors
  • Organizing and participating in departmental seminars, conferences, and workshops
  • Engaging in strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the department’s academic standing and research profile
  • Collaborating with faculty across disciplines to foster institutional growth and interdisciplinary initiatives
