DESCRIPTION
The Department of Physics is inviting applications for the position of ‘Project Associate’ from qualified women candidates to work on the Analog Devices Foundation sponsored project entitled “Water Research: Surface-Engineered Nano-Adsorbents for Selective Removal of Contaminants from Water.” The position is for a temporary period of 1 year, purely on a contractual basis, renewable based on requirement, post review and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will be required to carry out the following tasks under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. C. Prathibha:
- Execute laboratory experiments involving the synthesis of hybrid nanomaterials, characterize them using advanced analytical instruments, and conduct water remediation studies to assess their effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and proper waste management
- Support procurement of consumables and contingency items. Prepare and maintain official project-related documents and maintain stock records
- Participate in research meetings, discussions, and training sessions to support project progress
- Work collaboratively with the PI and research team to achieve project milestones
- Contribute to academic writing, including preparation of reports and publications
REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in M.Sc. Physics/ Materials science /Nanoscience and Nanotechnology / equivalent degree, with minimum 60% marks, and a good academic track record
- Proficiency in MS Office & computational package is desirable
- Experience in operating analytical equipment like HPLC, LC-MS, MP-AES, etc., is desirable
- Should be 25 years or less at the time of applying. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women, and those physically handicapped
- Appreciation and willingness to live a disciplined life as per the code of conduct of the University, based on the basic human values as enunciated by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is essential
