DESCRIPTION

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), is seeking a Research Assistant to support an ongoing research project.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree in Economics or related Social Sciences discipline.
• Strong analytical, management, and organizational skills, with demonstrated quantitative abilities (statistics, econometrics).
• Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of at least one statistical software/programming language: Stata, R, or Python.
• Familiarity with causal inference methods (preferred).
• Familiarity with Indian nationally representative surveys (e.g., NFHS, HCES, TUS, etc.) (preferred).
• Flexible, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
• Commitment to SSSIHL’s Code of Conduct and its values-based integral education system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contributing to survey design, including questionnaire development and refinement of study instruments.
• Overseeing data collection and entry, ensuring data quality and adherence to ethical standards.
• Supporting data cleaning, analysis, and interpretation.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports, manuscripts, and presentations for dissemination.
