On 14 September 2025, as part of the nationwide observance of Swachhata Pakhwada, the Green Cell and the Department of Education of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus, organized a Campus Cleaning Drive to promote awareness about cleanliness and encourage sustainable practices on campus.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 250 members, including Green Cell members, B.Ed. students, and volunteers from undergraduate and postgraduate programs—reflecting their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in their surroundings.
Participants assembled in front of their respective hostels, where they were briefed on the planned activities, safety protocols, and provided with cleaning tools such as broomsticks, dustpans, and gloves. During the drive, they collected dry grass, swept and dusted the stairs, common areas, corridors, reading halls, and lobbies, and organized the surroundings to create a cleaner, healthier, and more pleasant environment.
The activity successfully reinforced the message of the Swachhata Pakhwada movement, reminding everyone that cleanliness is a shared responsibility. Through their active participation, students demonstrated how collective effort can bring about visible change and foster sustainable living practices within the campus.
